Hotmail Scams have been a popular topic on ITCertPro.com. I wrote the original post as a warning to people that might receive a scam email, but are not sure what to do.
I want to make one thing perfectly clear: I do not work for Microsoft Hotmail. I cannot offer direct support. I cannot stop these emails from coming in to your inbox. Hotmail’s SPAM protection is pretty good, but, as with all SPAM protection, it is not perfect.
For Hotmail, unfortunately there is only electronic suppot. There is no phone support unless you have a paid Hotmail account.
Electronic support is located here:

I am getting a message from Windows Live that I need to confirm my windows live and hotmail accounts or they will be permanently shut my accounts down. They are asking for username, password, and birthdate.
I think this is a scam, but I can’t afford to lose my accounts.
Please advise
Thank you L Bundy
LJ Bundy,
The message that you describe sounds like a scam to me. Hotmail would not ask for your password through an email.
